Upon turning age 18, every person becomes a legal adult regardless of whether they have a disability.  This can lead to them being taken advantage of if such rights are not appropriate.  More importantly, it also means that their parent can no longer make legal decisions for them - including medical and financial decisions. 
If your child's disability prevents them from being independent, you may consider becoming their legal guardian.  We can help you accomplish this.
